Artist Statement
Storytelling is a practice humans have gravitated towards throughout history. From ancient cave paintings to the creation of myths and folklore to contemporary animation, narrative is a core element of the human experience and my personal art practice. Folklore serves as a central connection where culture and narrative converge, embodying the essence of human experience in profound and instinctual ways. Engaging with folk traditions is a primal inclination shared by all. In my artistic exploration through the medium of comics, animation, and the language of adornment, I weave narratives that echo the tales of my ancestors, delve into the intricacies of the environment, and illuminate aspects of identity, culture, and the living world, fostering a deeper understanding of our shared human experience.
