Artist Statement
Storytelling is a practice humans have gravitated towards throughout history. From ancient cave paintings to the creation of myths and folklore to contemporary animation, narrative is a core element of the human experience and my personal art practice. Folklore serves as a central connection where culture and narrative converge, embodying the essence of human experience in ways both profound and instinctual. Engaging with folk traditions is a primal inclination shared by all. In my artistic exploration through the medium of animation and the language of adornment,I weave narratives that echo the tales of my ancestors, delve into the intricacies of the environment, and illuminate aspects of identity, culture, and the living world, fostering a deeper understanding of our shared human experience.
