Embark on a journey through familial narratives and Armenian mythology in "Whispers from The Heart of a Rose," a visually captivating stop-motion animation. Drawing inspiration from oral family histories and cultural folklore, my BFA Senior Thesis serves as a bridge between generations, weaving personal anecdotes and mythical tales into a rich tapestry of visual storytelling. My familial heritage is at the core of this project, driven by a deep desire to honor and preserve the stories passed down through generations, particularly the vivid recounting of my great-grandmother's experiences. Central to my work is the exploration of identity, memory, cultural heritage, and generational trauma.

By intertwining personal anecdotes with Armenian mythology, I aim to delve into the complexities of individual and collective storytelling, shedding light on the transformative power of narrative expression. Through meticulous planning and experimentation, from character design to storyboarding development, I blended traditional animation techniques and digital 2D animation to create a visually immersive experience that seamlessly merges reality with folk magic. From meticulously crafting puppet structures to securing the authenticity of sound effects, each aspect of the production process was driven by a deep commitment to storytelling integrity, cultural resonance, and honoring the resilience of my grandma Marnos and my ancestors.
